Directors Note
Railway (Train) has been an indispensable and inseparable part of all Indians, especially Mumbaikars. It represents a repertoire of attitudes, perspectives, socio-economic and cultural diversities, mentalities and also behaviour patterns. Its the train where one can easily experience the mosaic of emotions and sentiments.
The play explores the deeper intricacies and significance of the train in our day to day routine lives. In recent times the Train has come to have a crucial significance as the happening place; people consider it as an eventful scenario.

Mr. Tengshe, the protagonist, being the son of a motorman, is not only a regular traveller but has a very close association with the train right from his birth. His life has been fully captured and gripped by a variety of train experiences. He also experiences severe nightmares but the train is still an inevitable part of his life. He represents a typical mediocre class who remains just a passive observer of all the disastrous happenings. He finds himself miserable and helpless as he can not react to them. Being a writer he is stuck in a dilemma whether to react through actions or through his words. He is trying hard to react in any possible way to come out of his piercing guilt complex.

This play laments on contemporary social conditions, behaviours and mentalities and the lethargic attitude of the common man who just wants to be the back seat driver and an arm chair critic.
