Mumbai's theatre landscape has long been enriched by institutions that understand the pulse of its audience. Among them, Ideas The Entertainment Company stands tall as it marks three decades of creating laughter, memories, and enduring stagecraft. Founded in 1996 by writer-director and performer Paritosh Painter, the company has delivered over 5,000 performances across India and overseas, building a legacy rooted in intelligent, family-friendly comedy.

From its early English hits like WHOSE WIFE IS IT ANYWAY, LIAR LIAR, and MADHOUSE to crowd-favourite productions such as AMAR AKBAR ANTONY and SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL, Ideas quickly established a distinct voice. The Hindi repertoire further widened its reach with plays like SELFIE, KYA FOOL HAI HUM, PAYING GUESTS, and YEH TEDHA GHAR YEH MEDHA GHAR, resonating strongly with urban theatre audiences.

In recent years, the company has expanded its creative spectrum. Productions like EK MAIN AUR EK TWO and CARRY ON SPYING continue its comic tradition, while #AKBAR@BIRBAL blends humour with a contemporary twist. ANANYA explores motivational storytelling, and NATHURAM MUST DIE reflects a bold shift towards layered, thought-provoking theatre.

Beyond stage, Ideas has made a significant mark in film, television, and OTT, with credits including DHAMAAL, ALL THE BEST, and BABY COME NAA.

Operating from Juhu, Mumbai, Ideas The Entertainment Company remains a driving force in Indian theatre, consistently nurturing talent, engaging audiences, and reinforcing comedy as a powerful, unifying form of storytelling.
