Professional, Entrepreneur and Theatre aficionado Ravi Dubey, husband of theatre personality Lillete Dubey and father of Ira and Neha Dubey, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015.

He started work at a young age and grew to have a formidable career with the Taj group of hotels before he retired from there to pursue his own interests in which theatre prominently featured. He was one of the chief designers and coordinators and creative Director of the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) that have come to be recognised as one of the premier awards in theatre in India. He was passionate about the awards and encouraged an open system of applications that is reviewed by a Selection Committee that changes each year. He wanted all kinds of groups to have a fair chance and collaborated with Teamwork to work towards the awards and the festival each year. META just celebrated its 10th anniversary festival in March.

Ravi Dubey had not been keeping well for a while. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was 60 years old.
