The grandeur of Indian theatre is set to reach soaring heights once again as Feroz Abbas Khan's magnum opus MUGHAL-E-AZAM makes its much-awaited return to The Grand Theatre at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). Starting January 09, 2026, the multi-award-winning musical will run until January 26, 2026, with shows at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM, offering audiences yet another chance to witness the historic saga that redefined Indian stagecraft.

Based on K. Asif's 1960 cinematic classic, the production brings alive the immortal love story of Prince Salim and the courtesan Anarkali, whose defiance of societal boundaries shook the foundations of the Mughal empire. After enthralling audiences across Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Canada, and the United States, the theatrical phenomenon returns for its third triumphant run - by overwhelming public demand.

With a mammoth cast and crew of over 150 artists, the musical boasts a powerhouse creative lineup featuring Mayuri Upadhya (Choreography), Manish Malhotra (Costume Design), Neil Patel (Scenic Design), David Lander (Lighting), John Narun (Projections), Richard Nowell (Sound), and Mukesh Chhabra (Casting). Produced by Deepesh Salgia, the spectacle features 550 resplendent costumes, live renditions of original film songs, and visually stunning sequences that transport viewers straight into the Mughal court.

Set within the majestic 2,000-seater auditorium, the narrative unfolds with cinematic intensity as Salim returns victorious from war, only to lose his heart to Anarkali. Emperor Akbar's stern opposition ignites a fierce battle between love and authority - culminating in one of history's most emotionally charged confrontations.

With its unmatched scale, live music, and visual splendour, MUGHAL-E-AZAM remains a landmark in Indian theatrical history.
