Satish Alekar�s BEGUM BARVE is a landmark play in modern Marathi Theatre. The play, which dates back to 1979 is still in production with the original cast and is as popular as ever. In the lead roles are veteran and famous Marathi actors- Chandrakant Kale and Mohan Agashe.

Alekar is one of India�s best known playwrights and was till recently head of the Lalit Kala Academy of Performing Arts at Pune University.
