CONFESSIONS is a dark comedy based on THE PILLOWMAN by Martin McDonagh (director of the film 'In Bruges'). It follows the story of a writer who is arrested as the prime suspect of a series of murders that have uncanny resemblances to his macabre stories. What follows is a tale of horror and violence, blurring the line between fact and fiction!
Directed by Kashin Shetty, 'Confessions' is showing at Prithvi Theatre on 6th July at 9:30pm and 7th July at 6:30pm and 9:30pm. Tickets: Rs.80 only! Quasar Thakore Padamsee of Team Thespo says: 'The amazing thing about the play is that in spite of its morbid content, it's actually quite funny. You laugh at things, and you can't help yourself. I have enjoyed it immensely each time I've seen it."
There will also be a 'Platform Performance' at 8.30pm. This month will feature IIT Bombay's Jaago Re - a street play aimed at awakening the youth and bringing to their attention how much the country needs them. Entry Free!
Thespo at Prithvi is a combined initiative between Prithvi Theatre and Thespo to showcase the work of new theatre groups each month. These repeat performances help the groups refine their work and allow the audience a glimpse of the 'future of theatre'.
