The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, the country's largest multicultural festival, will take place from January 20 to January 28, 2024. The festival will feature 29 plays in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and English. This will be the first time the festival has been held in January rather than February. The details and the schedules of the plays will be announced soon.

Theatre, more than any other kind of art, has been considered as a conduit of change, particularly in India, and the Theatre segment of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has always strived to select performances in a range of languages and genres that both inspire and entertain.

The theme of the festival is UDAAN:
It represents ones desire to progress and reach for the sky. Mumbai loves art and has a lot of talented artists who create amazing artwork that inspire others. The city also cares about the environment and wants to protect it for the future. Mumbai has a rich history and different cultures that make it special. It believes in being inclusive and making sure that all feel welcome.

About The Festival:
The Kala Ghoda Association was formed on 30th October 1998 with the aim of maintaining and preserving the heritage of the Kala Ghoda area - South Mumbai's beloved art district. This was made possible by the coming together of various art galleries, patrons and concerned citizens. Since then, they have successfully conserved the bustling crescent-shaped arts district.

The Kala Ghoda district is renowned for the rich concentration of heritage buildings, art and cultural spaces, such as museums, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and educational institutions. The precinct attracts food connoisseurs, fashion designers, architecture enthusiasts among a host of creative talent. The constant bustle of heritage aficionados is an ode to the rich legacy of the precinct.
