A collection of 18 plays written by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, titled Ink To Impact, was launched in Mumbai, in the presence of members of her group, Ekjute, friends, well-wishers and many who had acted in the plays over the years. The evening full of memories and laughter was expertly emceed by Babbar's children Juhi and Aarya.
She had started her playwriting journey in 1997, with DAYASHANKAR KI DIARY. a one-hander with Ashish Vidyarthi, who came to the launch and performed a scene from the play. Others like Ekjute regular Hanif Patni also performed along with Juhi and Aarya, while actors like Sumit Vyas, Utkarsh Majumdar, Vibha Chibber, Makrand Deshande and others, recreated scenes from plays like SUMAN AUR SANA, JI, JAISE AAPKI MARZI, YEH HAI BOMBAY MERI JAAN, OPERATION CLOUDBURST to name a few of the diverse plays she has written, while she recited her poem she had penned as a tribute to her mother Razia Sajjad Zaheer, titled Meri Maa Ke Haath. The showstopper was undoubtedly Sarita Joshi, who performed an excerpt from Babbar's most beloved play, SAKUBAI.
