Marathi Theatre Personality Macchindra Kamble Passes Away�

Known for his full-blast comedies that popularized the Malvani dialect on the Marathi stage, Macchindra Kambli succumbed to a stroke on Sunday, 30th September 2007. Kambli had been suffering from diabetes and was 58 years old. He was an actor, director, producer and President of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad.
His most famous play is perhaps VASTRAHARAN. It did very well and has become a landmark play of sorts in Marathi theatre. Kambli�s other well-known plays include TATYA SARPANCH and VAI VARSHA PANCHAVAN.
