Director Sameer Vidwans is simply elated about his debut directorial, NAVA GADI NAVA RAJYA completing a run of 100 shows, "It is my first commercial play and it has completed a milestone run of 100 shows! Well, I am totally overwhelmed," he says breathless with joy. The play opened on a heartening note in Mumbai on December 18 last year. NAVA GADI NAVA RAJYA is a new age marital drama of an arranged married couple which falls prey to ego hassles and misunderstandings. The youthful plot and setting of the play holds a great appeal for the young audience.
Written by Kshitij Patwardhan, starring Priya Bapat, Umesh Kamat and Hemant Dhome in a strange love-triangle - the play has already won seven Maharashtra State awards for direction, writing, acting, set design, music and costume.
The 99th show of NAVA GADI NAVA RAJYA was staged at Dubai recently to full house. "We perform each show with the same gusto and enthusiasm as the first one," says Sameer Vidwans.
